Moonlight Fields

Moonlight Fields

Just painted two watercolours (a  week a go, actually). In the morning reminds me of this time of year in Sweden. Lupins blooming and ocean sparkling. I love it!

Don’t have much time to paint right now, but I just have to now and then.

Tillbakablick

NORDSTAN: Vintage Reborn, Shoes and tattoos

It’s time again for Göteborgs Airbrush at Nordstan! This year my focus will be on textiles and skin art. I will be doing t-shirts on demand as before but this year I will spray and draw designs on Converse sneakers, Vans shoes and anything textile. As soon as school is over (June 14th) I’m starting to paint up some examples of what I do on tees, jeans jackets, dresses and bags. Pics coming soon.  This years theme is Gothenburg Artsy and the new line of ready mades will be my “Vintage Reborn”- art on recyled clothes. (I can’t believe what nice things one finds at the local market thrift store! And now there going to get pimped! Ha!)

Also new for this year – I am doing temporary tattoos! Choose between 50 different motives! Hope to see you there. I’ll be at Nordstan on the Expo Square (face to face with the entrance to Åhlens), from June 25th through the third week in July 2013 from 10:00 to 20:00 every day except Sundays. See you there!

Two days left

Today I was in school from nine to four and the rest of the day I worked on some digital art  ; mounted som photos and attached hanging wires on the back of two 100 x 100 cm grafitti paintings. Then I wraped up two or three others. Tommorrow I’ll be going to Gallerix to print a digital collage and pick up a specially made passepartou. Then I might have time to paint more airbrush. Only two days left…..Here you can see the latest variation on TIME:

The Ugly Kiss

This one is about the fact that you can’t hide your fatigue for your loved ones. I first painted many different faces with calligraphy ink on one single paper. Then I riped out the ones I wanted and now you see how scrapbooking board can add to the mood of the painting.

The Black Box

The Black Box – a reminder….

After a severe plane crash only two always survive: the voice recorder and the black box which records the plane’s vital information recorded up to 25 hours before the crash. When a person “crashes” we call it “Burnout”.  Later, in therapy, they can usually explain that they “saw it coming” but ignored the warning signals. Living under stress can be just as dangerous as flying a plane in autopilot mode during severe icy conditions if you don’t take care of the fatigue and self-criticism weighing down your soul’s wings. When you crash those dependent on you suffer too.

Plane crashes don’t happen every day. It’s six times safer to travel by plane than by car. But some things do increase the risk: ice build-up; pilot tiredness; bad maintenance to name a few.

“Ice typically builds up when tiny cloud droplets impact and freeze on the leading edges, or front surfaces, of the plane. The ice alters airflow over the wing and tail, reducing the lift force that keeps the plane in the air, and potentially causing aerodynamic stall… if the plane is pelted with larger droplets, they may freeze farther back on the wing where ice cannot be effectively removed.” Ice can concentrate on the wings during flight or when the plane is on the ground. Both are dangerous.

Questions to ponder:
How long can a person bear stress, resentment, rejection, pain, trauma,… without crashing? (These are just a few examples of “ice on the wings”.)

Are you, or someone you know “collecting ice on the wings”?

Are you/they regularly “de-icing the wings”? What other maintenance is needed regularly so that you function properly and feel good?

Are you/they flying “with the autopilot on” as if nothing is going to happen in the middle of “severe icy conditions”?

Why not turn on the de-icing mode: delegate some work to others; get rest; love yourself and others; do things that make you happy and that give you energy like walking in the forest, swimming or going to a café with a friend.

Time to smell the flowers

Time to Smell the Flowers – aquarelle and scrapbook collage                15 x 21 cm

Scents are more important than we realize. There are thousands of fragrance particles swirling around you at any time just waiting for you to receive them.  Our memories are strongly associated with the way things smelled in the past. A fresh autumn day with aromas of spicy leaves or a particular dish that my mom always cooked can remind us of pleasant times we’ve had in the past. In our Western society, we rarely make time to take in the beautiful scents being offered, we simply rush by them. I may choose to associate a week of commuting to work with the smell of garlic, sweat and brake grease on the trams. Or I can think of sea breeze at Klippan ferry on a sunny afternoon in October. It is a choice what I take in and which smells I choose to affect me.

Taking the time to smell some flowers counteracts stress and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Burned-out Barbie, “The Black Box” and “Fly Plane Fly” have alot in common

You will find Barbie with her head, hands and feet absorbed into the wall, Her hair is half-burned and she is naked except for a pair of shoes. This collage/painting illustrates “Hitting the wall” or as it is called in Swedish, “Att gå in i väggen”. When you are so worn out that you just can’t find the joy anymore; don’t want to meet anyone; can’t function and you’ve lost the desire to do anything to better the situation, then you’ve hit The Wall. You feel completely naked, ugly and can’t believe that anyone is there for you. (Even if you are good-looking, talented and so on.) You need rest and lot’s of it. For you Swedes in Gothenburgh who feel like a burned out Barbie I would like to recommend this:

Till våren startar vi ett nytt rehabiliteringsalternativ i Göteborg för personer med utmattningssyndrom. Det är en tolvstegsinspirerad behandling som ser till hela människanwww.trappaut.se Välkommen att anmäla dig till något av höstens informationstillfällen eller föreläsningar

I’m just finishing “The Black Box” which illustrates what’s left inside one’s mind after the “plane crash” many experience in life after years of hard work and expectations from themselves and others. It’s easy to see just why you crashed after the fact. What was it that caused the plane crash? How did I end up unable to “fly”? the explanation is all in the black box. Come to the art show and see if you guessed right…..

In my illustration/photo collage “Fly Plane Fly” Grunk (My own made up comic figure) stands close to a plane wreck and screams “Fly Plane Fly!” It’s not just a silly notion, it’s pathetic. The plane is totally wrecked – all others around can clearly see it. The plane is a person who has gone out of control and need medical attention; a psychologist; a counselor and tons of rest. In this case it is Grunk who, speaking to his heart and body (the plane wreck) wants to live on as if everything will be fine just because he wantsit to. He has to see what everyone else does: he can’t go on like this anymore. It’s impossible. He needs a new plane. Many of us just don’t see it coming and when we de facto have crashed we idiotically keep on tryings to fly. It isn’t until we can admit our needs; when we stop hating ourselves for whatever we did to cause the wreck and all the lives around us that were affected by it that we can receive the help we need to fly again. But believe me – you’ll probably be much more carefu

Fly Plane Fly!

l next time, choose a smaller plane and so on….
